Riot at Port Hedland Detention Centre
Here's a publicity stunt gone badly awry.
Asocialist agitator heroic teacher plans a trip to show her high school girls an evil detention centre full of peace loving refugees.
Unfortunately, thejackbooted oppressors staff of the imigration department advise our fearless do gooder that high school girls will not be granted access due to fears for their safety. Naturally, our heroine takes the students 1700km to the detention centre to make a point anyway.
While there, an "outside party" informs the friendly peace loving refugees that the heroic teacher is not allowed access due to safety fears.

A Letter to the Sydney Morning Herald
One of the pro liberal (that's Australian for conservative for foreign readers) letters that got into the SMH today.
Terry Davis, Lindfield, November 29.
I also remember the "J curve", the "Banana republic" and annual Christmas transport strikes.
Can the Labor Party please just choose a new leader, lose the next election and let us carry on with our generally good and competent Coalition Government? We now have a stable and prosperous Australia and, while the Labor Party machinations are quite amusing, we still remember 18 per cent interest rates, unacceptably high unemployment and the recession we had to have.
